About Me

Profile

I am a critical applied linguist. My work explores how English is taught, learned, and ideologically framed across diverse communities, with particular attention to power, inequality, and social (in)justice. Using qualitative methods including narrative inquiry, critical discourse analysis, and grounded theory, I explore issues in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, and Sociolinguistics by foregrounding questions of diversity, equity, inclusivity, technology, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). My work seeks to challenge dominant language ideologies through the lens of Global Englishes and contributes to more just and inclusive approaches to language education.

I was born and raised in a small village (see the picture of my home on the left) in the Far Western part of Nepal. As a child, I remember how difficult it was for my family to meet basic needs such as healthcare, transportation, and education. My village was far from urban areas, and opportunities were limited (see more in the PDF below).
